Study Abroad Africa – Where Traditional Values and Diverse Cultures Coexist with Nature

The educational, cultural and social possibilities are endless if you join a summer study abroad Africa program. Not only is the continent of Africa full of some of the most wondrous wildlife populations in the world, but it also celebrates some of the most diverse and visually stunning native populations of people.

A summer abroad in the South African city of Cape Town consists of many tourist destinations like shopping at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, catching a show at the Artscape Theatre Centre or watching the annual surfing competition called the Red Bull Big Wave Africa.

If you spend more time in Africa in a semester abroad, you can visit Kenya and watch the Kisima Music Awards, which recognizes a range of popular music genres in East Africa. Or you visit the country next to Kenya in the East called Tanzania, and see over 130 amphibians and 275 reptiles, all of which are native to the country.

Of course you can’t visit Africa without an African safari tour through any of the major countries. You will see nature and wildlife such as buffalo, lions, elephants and giraffe close-up, and tour the vast terrain in a mini-bus or open roof vehicle, stay at a hotel or tented camp and eat some unique and tasty food.

Study Abroad in Africa

If you study abroad in Africa you will have the opportunity to meet amazing people who celebrate some of the most beautiful and unique forms of music and dance in the world. And since Africa is the second largest continent after Asia, there are plenty of native people with different backgrounds and lifestyles that can teach you about African history or playing the popular sport of rugby.

South Africa

Your study abroad South Africa visit can include touring the skyscraper-filled and golf course spotted city of Cape Town, or conversing with a wide variety of people who can speak over 11 different languages ranging from German and Portuguese to African Lobedu. There are also many schools in South African that teach in English, but for a real study abroad Africa experience you should try to learn one of the native languages. Click here to learn about the wonders of South Africa.
