Did you know that international students and their families contribute more than $15 billion annually to the U.S. economy? This is how many colleges get revenue to continue their study abroad programs.

Lucky for the U.S. China’s economy is booming, and that means more Chinese students are rushing to America to get an education. Despite the past terrorist attacks and increased security measures, the number of international students coming to the U.S. rose 7% just from last year, and much of that percentage comes from China.

Apparently there’s a huge Chinese middle-class of 300 million who want to see their children study abroad and get a better education than what is offered in China.

So what universities have seen an increase in study abroad program Chinese students?

    • Kansas State - 199 Chinese students (65 last year)
    • Michigan State University - 327 Chinese students (95 last year)

These are just a few schools that have seen the rise in Chinese students.

This international invasion from China is a great way for American students to learn the Chinese language, to understand the Chinese culture and to educate others about the American culture.

Though the Chinese students like getting an education in America, many still plan on going home after they attain their degree.

This has a lot to do with the Chinese tradition of living near and taking care of your family.
