Thanks to a new program called “South Africa: Democracy and Development,” Northwestern University study abroad students have a chance to study in South Africa at some of the country’s top universities.
One such university is Stellenbosch University, which is considered one of the best research institutions in all of South Africa.
What does this new Democracy and Development South Africa program offer to Northwestern students? An examination of South Africa’s:
- Economic development policies
- Human rights
- Democratization efforts
- Contemporary politics
- Development and income distribution
- Fight against HIV/AIDs
- Judicial and political institutions
- Education
- Democracy
Students not only get to learn about South African history in this program in South Africa, but they also get to explore some of the country’s most beautiful landmarks and study language abroad while there.
