Four lucky students at Purdue University Calumet each received a $1,800 Honors Study Abroad Scholarship for a summer study abroad program at a study abroad location of their choosing. They were chosen after writing an essay on why they would like to travel abroad.
So, what countries have the students chosen to visit?
- Lisa Kerstell - Traveling to Rome to study Italian abroad, as well as ancient Roman history
- Allison Colgrove - Study abroad France activities include studying in the morning and experimenting with activities in the afternoon
- Alison Schnoor - Study abroad Mexico trip to the Yucatan peninsula consists of 4 weeks of studying Mayan culture, civilization and ruins, and learning about Latin American literature
- Joann Holmen - A study abroad Paris trip that includes staying with a host family and learning about France’s top-ranked position in math education
This is a great opportunity for all study abroad scholarship winners to experience a new culture and broaden their personal and educational horizons.
