Group Travel
Traveling with Fellow Study Abroad Students Can Make Group Travel Fun and Exciting!
Traveling while studying abroad is like peanut butter and jelly, butter and toast – they just go together! Student travel is one of the most amazing experiences you will have while studying abroad because you will never have the freedom to travel to as many countries in as short amount of time as you will when studying abroad. Group travel is a great way to safely visit multiple locations without worrying about being scammed.
What is Group Travel?
Participating in group travel could mean two things. The first is as simple as putting together a group of friends you are studying or working abroad with, and going on a trip together! This type of group travel is done on the fly, organized by you – tourists – and include only the things you’ve heard about (or let’s be honest, the cheapest sites to see).
Group travel also includes group tours. Tour groups for student travel are geared towards places and events that younger people would find interesting, and can usually be found at a discounted price. In a lot of cases, transportation around an area is included, as is lodging and certain meals if your group travel tour is overnight.
Types of Student Group Travel
Because the tours are focused on students, they have different themes associated with the type of group travel they are advertising. Here are some of the most popular themes for student travel in group travel:
- Educational tours
- Adventure tours
- Music tours
- Colonial tours
- Faith-based tours
- National park tours
- Theater tours
- Movie tours
- Eco-friendly tours
- Art tours
These group travel tours are available in either escorted or accompanied group travel tours. AdventureStudentTravel.com has amazing student group travel tours, including all those themes, plus more – including student cruises!
Group Travel vs. Independent Travel
Choosing between group travel and independent travel has to do with two major factors: how safe you feel in a country, and what activities you are interested in pursuing. If you would prefer to go to the shores of Spain and lay on the gorgeous beaches that stretch for miles, and club hop at night, then choosing independent travel might be the better choice (see our section on independent travel for more information on safety and tour operators).
On the other hand, if you are looking to get the most out of your trip by seeing as many famous sites as you can and experiencing the culture and famous monuments of a place, group travel might be the better choice.
