Birthright Israel is a type of study abroad program for Jewish young adults ages 18-26 that take groups of young Jews to Israel on educational trips for free. Its purpose is to diminish the growing division between Israel and Jewish communities around the world; to strengthen the sense of solidarity among the world Jewry; and to strengthen participant’s personal identity and connection to the Jewish people.
